Answers:
• Who is P.L.U.T.O Rescue?
We are a nonprofit, no kill animal rescue group started by people who have a special place in their hearts for the homeless, abandoned, sick and unwanted animals. To promote humane education designed to increase awareness, compassion and responsible pet ownership. An all volunteer group dedicated to rescuing, providing medical attention and unconditional love until placed in a permanent and well educated home.

• Where are we located?
We are a Staten Island based rescue. Our rescue does not have a facility. We are not an animal shelter. We operate our rescue from our homes. (If you are looking for our mailing address, please see our "About Us" page for mailing address)

• Is there a place I could go to see the animals?
We operate our rescue from our homes therefore most of our animals are fostered if the conditions permit it. We do not have an actual place or facility that we work from. If you are interested in a pet that we have, please contact us to make an appointment to meet the animal.

We do take our Pets to Petco, Arcadia Pets etc. for Adoption Days. If you would like to see what we have planned next, please visit our Events Page.

• What kind of animals do you have/take in?
We take in dogs and cats of all ages and size. We also take in small animals and birds but may refer these animals to another rescue/shelter.

• Where do your animals come from?
It really depends. Majority of our pets are abandoned and strays. We try to deal mainly in this group.

Also, there are times when the owners can no longer care for the animals and instead of turning them over to a shelter (that usually euthanize animals), they choose us.

We cannot take in all pets turned in by owners as we are only a rescue with limited resources. We do not have outside funding and count on the generosity of donations. But please do not hesitate to give us a call! Even if we cannot help, we can refer you to someone who can.

• What do you do when you find an animal?
Animals that we find are given immediate checkups and needed medical care.

• How can I help?
We are in need of foster homes for cats and dogs! If you think you can take in an animal, even for a short period of time, please contact us!

We need volunteers, and donations. Please see our "How You Can Help Us"

• I am interested in one of your animals. What do I do now?
Please see "Links" for the Adoption Procedure link for full info.

• I have a cat/kitten/dog/puppy that needs a home. Can you help me?
We will try our best to place your pet in a home. Please contact us to see if we can help you!
